BBQ Grill Smoker

The BBQ Grill Smoker slow cooks meat in a moist, smoky environment. Inside the cooking chamber there is a fire at the bottom creating smoke that mingles with steam. This combination of heat and smoke within the smoker develops a smoky barbeque flavor during the cooking process. As the BBQ grill smoker steams the smoke surrounds the meat and leaves a distinct flavor. BBQ Grill Smoker

As the temperature increases, the meat cooks and the seasoning deposited on the surface sinks in, infusing the succulent and tender beef, chicken, or pork with a highly recognizable taste. Smoking meat can turn any cut of meat into a gourmet meal. People who use smokers long prized the unique flavor smoking creates. There are many type of bbq grill smokers used today. Some are electric and others are the old fashions fire and steam. Most chefs prefer the control and safety of newer, backyard model.

Smoking Tips With A BBQ Grill Smoker

BBQ Grill Smokers are very easy to operate. Since the meat inside does not come into direct contact with flame, a smoker needs less attention that a grill. Smokers work best when the meat placed inside is left alone and occasionally basted to keep it moist. For authentic, slow-cooked barbecue, the cooking temperature should be between 175 and 225 degrees Fahrenheit, never exceeding 250 degrees.  It may take longer to cook but the results are a moist, tender piece of meat full of flavor.

To achieve additional flavor in your meat, you may marinade or apply a rub to your meat before smoking. Overly salty ingredients should be avoided, since they can cause the meat to dry out during the long procedure. The gentle heat of the smoker helps the meat absorb other flavors, but nothing should be used that would overpower the aroma imparted by the smoking process itself.

Cooks spend more time and energy adjusting the smoke than they do tending to the meat. The smoky flavor produced depends a great deal on what kind of wood is introduced. Apple, alder, cherry, hickory, maple, mesquite, oak, walnut, and pecan are all popular choices, prized for slight variations in taste. Additionally, a bbq grill smoker needs steam to operate, so experts recommend keeping a tin of water in the smoker throughout its use.

Have you ever been trying to get just that perfect taste to your meat, but simply aren’t able to with a regular grill or other cooking method? Perhaps it is simply that you have never tried using a German smoker for your cooking needs. A German smoker will provide you with a unique and distinct taste to your meats and other cooked food.

What Is It?

If you have been used to using a grill, a German smoker isn’t that big of a step for you. It is simply a grill-like food preparation cooker. It is like a grill in that you put the meat inside of it and heat it up. The difference lies in the fact that the smoke is what is used to cook the meat, rather than the flame.

This is accomplished in a German smoker by having the flame so low that it cannot reach the food. The food is also placed inside the German smoker and you shouldn’t check on it very often because the point is to keep it sealed in the smoker long enough for it to cook and that have that smoked taste to it. The taste is what is the most different when you are using a smoker rather than a grill to cook your food.

Differences In Taste

Some people claim that the differences in taste between a German smoker and a grill are so drastic that they would rather keep their grill so that they can enjoy both of them. The smoke used by the German smoker actually allows the meat to dry all the way through as it cooks. This means that the taste of the smoke goes all the way through the food that you are cooking. This isn’t simply a marinade, but a way of cooking your food.

Time Differences

Cooking with a German smoker is different in another way to. It is simply going to take longer with a German smoker than with a regular grill. This is something that might be a hindrance when you begin to cook with a smoker, because you are used to the quick satisfaction that results in cooking with a grill. However, it is important to know that the benefits of cooking with a smoker far outweigh the cost in time. It is much healthier, and the taste is much more clear and strong, if you cook using a smoker rather than a simple charcoal grill.

Learn How Do I Choose the Right Outdoor Grill

Singles, busy professionals, and childless couples alike usually cook relatively small meals and could therefore make pretty could use of the smallest outdoor grills available, whereas families with 3 or more members should opt for an outdoor grill that can hold most or all of a typical meal’s contents.

Larger grills are also a better option if you like to cook oversized food items like briskets, which likely wouldn’t fit a small grill. Small grills are really better suited to foods like chicken, burgers, fish, sausages, and vegetables in small quantities.

When shopping for an outdoor grill, you also have the option to choose between charcoal, gas, and electric operated grills. It is completely up to your individual preference, though many say charcoal grills produce better tasting food than the rest. The downside is charcoal grills take a significant amount of time to heat up where gas and electric are ready for use almost instantaneously.

The space you have available to put the grill is another factor to consider when deciding which grill is best for you. For instance, if you live in an apartment or have a very small patio, high capacity super-grills are probably not a great idea in terms of both practicality and safety.

Also, if you like to smoke your meat, there are grills available that have a smoke box attached to the side so you don’t have to purchase separate products.

No matter what grill you’re cooking on, it will use an open flame and should therefore be used with extra caution. It is necessary to take all measures to prevent injury or property damage by carefully setting up the grill components in an area that is a good distance from and standing structure.

Having Weber Barbecue Grills As Smokers

Having Weber Barbecue Grills As Smokers
Weber barbecues are popularly sold across the world as a leading brand in the world of grilling, and are the choice of a lot of amateur and professional grillers whenever they want to grill mouthwatering dishes outdoors. However, if you want to smoke meat or vegetables, you can easily turn your Weber barbecue grill into a smoker at no time, adding extra flavor to whatever dish you are cooking on your grill.

Smokers involve a different way of cooking. Rather than having the heat of the live coals to cook the meat, the smoke that the coals and embers produce is used to cook the meat. Using different wood chips also give the meat various flavors, thus giving a fresh new taste at the same time.

Decide on the type of wood chips that you want to use in your smoker. Most of the wood chips can be bought either at a hardware shop or in a supermarket. Soak the wood chips as instructed on the packaging. Wood chips are typically required to be soaked overnight. You also have to make sure that the wood chips that you are buying are of hard wood like hickory, maple or oak.

You can purchase separate smoker unit that will fit into your Weber barbecues, or you can easily improvise and make one that will fit inside the grill. You could take two foil pie plates to make your homemade smoker. Place the soaked wood chips into one pie plate, and fill the plate so the basin portion of the grill is full.

Punch a number of small holes or perforations into the second pie plate, then place it on top of the first pie plate and seal it by folding an edge of the pie plate over the other. If your Weber barbecues have a split grill, elevate it on the highest point and pull down the other side.

Lastly, put your foil smoker on the lower side of the grill, turning the heat on this side to high. Turn the heat on the side where your food to be smoked is to low. This will allow the smoke of the wood chips to cook the food. If possible, seal any gaps on your barbecue with foil, as you have to retain as much smoke as possible inside your Weber barbecues.
